La science dit que c&#039;est possible, mais pas parce que le vieillissement s&#039;est invers\u00e9."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Il y a une histoire que je raconte qui donne l&#039;impression de provoquer la biologie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mon premier marathon a eu lieu \u00e0 30 ans : 3 h 59.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mon deuxi\u00e8me marathon a eu lieu \u00e0 40 ans en 3 h 33.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mon meilleur marathon \u00e0 ce jour a \u00e9t\u00e9 de 44:3:31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c0 premi\u00e8re vue, on dirait que je vais \u00e0 contre-courant. Comme si j&#039;avais d\u00e9couvert le secret miracle anti-\u00e2ge cach\u00e9 dans un salon d&#039;a\u00e9roport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La r\u00e9alit\u00e9 est moins dramatique (et plus utile) : je n&#039;ai pas rajeuni. Je me suis am\u00e9lior\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et le plus int\u00e9ressant, c&#039;est que les recherches ne contredisent pas ma chronologie. Elles l&#039;expliquent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>La preuve\u00a0: une \u00e9tude de 47\u00a0ans qui se moque de mes sentiments.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une \u00e9quipe de recherche su\u00e9doise a suivi 427 personnes (481 femmes transgenres), en les soumettant \u00e0 des tests r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9s de l&#039;\u00e2ge de 16 \u00e0 63 ans. Les m\u00eames personnes. Pendant pr\u00e8s de cinq d\u00e9cennies. Voil\u00e0 le genre de donn\u00e9es qu&#039;on ne conteste pas\u00a0: on les \u00e9coute.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ils ont mesur\u00e9 :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>capacit\u00e9 a\u00e9robie maximale (aptitude cardiorespiratoire)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Endurance musculaire (r\u00e9p\u00e9titions au d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 couch\u00e9)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Puissance musculaire (test de saut)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Le principal constat est sans d\u00e9tour :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La capacit\u00e9 a\u00e9robie et l&#039;endurance musculaire ont atteint leur apog\u00e9e vers l&#039;\u00e2ge de 26 \u00e0 36 ans, puis ont d\u00e9clin\u00e9 \u2013 lentement au d\u00e9but, plus rapidement par la suite.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Du pic \u00e0 l&#039;\u00e2ge de 63 ans, le d\u00e9clin moyen des r\u00e9sultats \u00e9tait d&#039;environ 30% \u00e0 48%.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alors\u2026 si la capacit\u00e9 maximale est atteinte plus t\u00f4t, pourquoi mes temps au marathon se sont-ils am\u00e9lior\u00e9s jusqu&#039;\u00e0 la quarantaine\u00a0?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Car la performance en marathon ne se r\u00e9sume pas \u00e0 la seule capacit\u00e9 brute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deux forces s&#039;affrontaient au sein de mes r\u00e9sultats.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consid\u00e9rez la performance comme le produit de deux courbes\u00a0:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Courbe A : Biologie (le plafond s&#039;abaisse lentement)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&#039;\u00e9tude montre que la capacit\u00e9 physique moyenne commence \u00e0 d\u00e9cliner avant 40 ans, et que ce d\u00e9clin s&#039;acc\u00e9l\u00e8re par la suite.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une \u00e9tude longitudinale distincte sur le VO\u2082 de pointe a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que le d\u00e9clin s&#039;acc\u00e9l\u00e8re \u00e0 chaque d\u00e9cennie, m\u00eame lorsque les personnes sont actives (l&#039;activit\u00e9 augmente la valeur de base, mais n&#039;arr\u00eate pas le temps).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Courbe B : \u00c2ge d&#039;entra\u00eenement (votre ex\u00e9cution s&#039;am\u00e9liore)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les marathons r\u00e9compensent l&#039;exp\u00e9rience comme un professeur cruel :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>rythme<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ravitaillement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>durabilit\u00e9<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>meilleure structure de formation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>moins d\u201c\u201d erreurs de d\u00e9butant \u00bb qui co\u00fbtent des minutes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ainsi, si l&#039;ex\u00e9cution s&#039;am\u00e9liore plus vite que le d\u00e9clin biologique, les performances peuvent continuer \u00e0 progresser pendant des ann\u00e9es, voire des d\u00e9cennies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est probablement ce que refl\u00e8te mon parcours\u00a0: je n\u2019ai pas vaincu le vieillissement. J\u2019ai r\u00e9duit le gaspillage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Le v\u00e9ritable \u201c secret \u201d de l\u2019\u00e9tude su\u00e9doise\u00a0: l\u2019\u00e9cart devient \u00e9norme<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le d\u00e9tail le plus favorable \u00e0 WbMT n&#039;\u00e9tait pas le d\u00e9clin moyen, mais l&#039;explosion de la variance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avec l&#039;\u00e2ge, l&#039;\u00e9cart entre les personnes les plus performantes et les moins performantes s&#039;est consid\u00e9rablement creus\u00e9, atteignant jusqu&#039;\u00e0 25 fois la variance de la capacit\u00e9 a\u00e9robie relative \u00e0 l&#039;\u00e2ge de 63 ans.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Traduction : le vieillissement est une r\u00e9alit\u00e9, mais la fa\u00e7on dont on vieillit devient de plus en plus n\u00e9gociable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Voil\u00e0 pourquoi mon histoire a sa place sur ce blog\u00a0: il ne s\u2019agit pas de \u201c\u00a0regardez-moi\u00a0\u201d, mais de \u201c\u00a0regardez l\u2019effet de levier\u00a0\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Honn\u00eatement, j&#039;ai probablement laiss\u00e9 passer une opportunit\u00e9 en termes de vitesse.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Voici la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 qui d\u00e9range, je suis pr\u00eat \u00e0 la dire tout haut :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Je me suis am\u00e9lior\u00e9, m\u00eame si j&#039;\u00e9tais moins disciplin\u00e9 que je n&#039;aurais pu l&#039;\u00eatre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce qui signifie que la v\u00e9ritable le\u00e7on n&#039;est pas \u201c on peut s&#039;am\u00e9liorer apr\u00e8s 40 ans \u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La v\u00e9ritable le\u00e7on est :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En d\u00e9veloppant vos capacit\u00e9s plus t\u00f4t, vous en aurez davantage pour les d\u00e9cennies \u00e0 venir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&#039;\u00e9tude elle-m\u00eame va dans le m\u00eame sens\u00a0: l&#039;activit\u00e9 physique est li\u00e9e \u00e0 de meilleures performances dans tous les domaines, et commencer \u00e0 \u00eatre actif plus tard est toujours b\u00e9n\u00e9fique, ce qui sugg\u00e8re que la porte ne se ferme pas, mais que les habitudes prises plus t\u00f4t s&#039;accumulent.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Les principaux enseignements de ma formation \u201c\u00a0Histoire + Preuve\u00a0\u201d pour les voyageurs press\u00e9s<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est le syst\u00e8me que j\u2019aurais aim\u00e9 mettre en place plus t\u00f4t, car il r\u00e9siste aux al\u00e9as des voyages et ne d\u00e9pend pas de semaines parfaites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1) La musculation n&#039;est pas facultative apr\u00e8s 35 ans<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une m\u00e9ta-analyse a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que tout entra\u00eenement de r\u00e9sistance \u00e9tait associ\u00e9 \u00e0 une mortalit\u00e9 toutes causes confondues plus faible, la r\u00e9duction la plus importante \u00e9tant observ\u00e9e autour de 60 minutes par semaine (rendements d\u00e9croissants au-del\u00e0).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C&#039;est un seuil incroyablement bas pour une r\u00e9compense aussi importante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Version voyage : 2 x 30 minutes\/semaine. Salle de sport de l&#039;h\u00f4tel. Exercices de base. Si vous ne pouvez pas soulever des poids, faites du transport de charges. Si vous ne pouvez pas faire de longues s\u00e9ances, faites des s\u00e9ances courtes et fr\u00e9quentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3) Ancrez-vous aux lignes directrices, puis personnalisez.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recommandations de l&#039;OMS pour les adultes\u00a0: 150 \u00e0 300\u00a0min\/semaine d&#039;activit\u00e9 physique mod\u00e9r\u00e9e (ou 75 \u00e0 150\u00a0min d&#039;activit\u00e9 physique vigoureuse) plus un travail de force 2\u00a0jours ou plus par semaine.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce n&#039;est pas un plan de performance, mais un rappel \u00e0 la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 : vous n&#039;avez pas besoin d&#039;une complexit\u00e9 h\u00e9ro\u00efque pour prot\u00e9ger votre futur vous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>La chute (et le but de WbMT)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mon record personnel au marathon \u00e0 44 ans ne signifiait pas que le vieillissement s&#039;\u00e9tait arr\u00eat\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cela signifiait que ma formation commen\u00e7ait enfin \u00e0 payer mon loyer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&#039;\u00e2ge fait baisser le plafond.
