What happened this week<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

From October 10\u201312<\/strong>, we spent a weekend in Greifswald<\/strong> because my oldest son chose a complex school project: nuclear fusion<\/strong>. Not the \u201ccool sci-fi\u201d version\u2014real fusion, real engineering, real people working on problems that take decades to solve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He didn\u2019t just research it. He pushed far enough to earn an interview with a nuclear scientist connected to the research environment, and we made it a family trip. We also attended an open house event where we could see exhibits and learn more about the stellarator approach to fusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The travel + wellness thread<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This wasn\u2019t a fitness-focused trip\u2014but it still fit perfectly into what I\u2019m building with Wellness by Michael Tomasini<\/em>: a life where curiosity, challenge, and discipline don\u2019t live in separate boxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were out of our normal rhythm, but it was the good kind of disruption\u2014the kind that makes you reflect. Seeing long-term scientific work up close has a strange effect: it makes short-term excuses feel smaller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Family Challenge:<\/strong>\u00a0the most important one\u2014something we share together, so health becomes culture, not just individual effort.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Greifswald didn\u2019t \u201cstart\u201d all of this, but it made it official. It was the weekend we decided to call our shots publicly and follow through with integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What I learned<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Wellness isn\u2019t only food and workouts. It\u2019s values. It\u2019s identity. It\u2019s the decision to build a life where curiosity and consistency can coexist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Science teaches patience. Training teaches patience. Parenting teaches patience. This weekend reminded me that the best projects\u2014reactors, races, and families\u2014are built the same way: one honest step at a time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
