I missed the other by a small but meaningful margin. My time was&nbsp;<strong>1:31:54<\/strong>\u2014close enough to feel the edge of what\u2019s possible, and far enough to know I\u2019ll need a smarter push to break through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I ran the race&nbsp;<strong>fasted<\/strong>, and I didn\u2019t eat until&nbsp;<strong>23 hours after finishing<\/strong>. By the time I had breakfast the next morning, the total fast was about&nbsp;<strong>36 hours<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the race, I took an electric rental car and drove to Lyon for business meetings, with mandatory charging stops along the way\u2014one of those modern travel sequences that forces you to slow down whether you want to or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The travel + wellness thread<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This race was a checkpoint in a longer experiment: can I train and perform consistently while traveling for work, without needing a complicated \u201cperfect day\u201d routine?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fasted running has become normal for me, not dramatic. The bigger challenge isn\u2019t willpower\u2014it\u2019s building a system that holds up through hotels, airports, client dinners, and unpredictable schedules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The half marathon was proof that the base is real.
