Why I Started ‘Wellness by Michael Tomasini’
Most wellness content on the internet has one big problem: it’s either too perfect to be true, or too dramatic to be useful.
You’ve seen it. The “one weird trick.” The miracle morning that somehow requires zero kids, zero travel, zero stress, and a bank account that sleeps eight hours a night. The before-and-after photos that scream certainty—when real life is messy, unpredictable, and sometimes held together with coffee and calendar invites.
This blog is my attempt to do something simpler, stranger, and (I think) more valuable:
I’m going to run a personal, real-life wellness experiment—week by week—and report honestly.
Not as a guru. Not as a doctor. Not as someone with perfect discipline. Just as a human who wants to feel better, perform better, and live better… without pretending that life stops being life.
The real reason I started
I’m a busy professional. I travel. I work across cultures and time zones. I also have a family, responsibilities, and the usual modern cocktail of stress + screens + “I’ll deal with that later.” I’ve been active for years, I care about performance, and I’ve learned something that I wish more people said out loud:
Consistency isn’t about motivation. It’s about designing a system that survives chaos.
I started “Wellness by Michael Tomasini” because I didn’t want another burst of inspiration followed by a slow fade back into old habits. I wanted a process that keeps moving even when motivation doesn’t show up for work.
And I wanted to build something that’s useful to other people—especially busy professionals who want better energy, better fitness, and better habits without becoming full-time biohackers.
What this blog is (and what it isn’t)
This is not a place for miracle claims or perfect routines.
This is a place for:
- Honest weekly stories from real life
- Simple experiments I’m testing (what works, what doesn’t)

2) No guru voice.
I’m not here to tell you “this will change your life.” I’m here to say “here’s what I tried, here’s what happened, and here’s what I’d adjust.”
3) No cherry-picked perfection.
If I skip workouts, sleep badly, eat in a way that doesn’t serve me, or feel off—those are part of the story. Honest reporting is the point.
4) Data is a flashlight, not a whip.
Metrics are helpful when they create clarity. They’re harmful when they create shame. I’ll use numbers where they support learning, not self-punishment.
5) Privacy and respect come first.
I’ll keep family details respectful and minimal, and I’ll avoid mixing this with employer-specific content. This is about wellness, not workplace drama.
The method: how this becomes a weekly engine (not a random diary)
Most people don’t fail because they don’t know what to do. They fail because they don’t have a repeatable way to reflect, adjust, and continue.
So here’s the structure I’m committing to:
Daily: 5-minute check-ins (private)
The goal isn’t to write literature. It’s to capture reality.
On most days, a check-in might include:
- Sleep (rough quality)
- Movement (what I did, even if it’s small)
- Food rhythm (especially if travel is involved)
- Mood / energy (a simple read)
- One lesson or observation
It’s private. It’s quick. It’s raw.
Weekly: Sunday synthesis (public blog)
Once per week, I’ll turn the private notes into a public post that includes:
- The story of the week (what really happened)
- A simple takeaway
- One small experiment for the next week
This is the heart of “Wellness by Michael Tomasini”: learning in public, without pretending.
Monthly: chapter-style roll-up (for the future)
Over time, weekly posts become chapters. Not because I’m trying to build a “brand empire,” but because patterns only reveal themselves after repetition.
A month of notes shows trends you can’t see in a day:

- What consistently improves energy?
- What consistently backfires?
That’s where the real insights live.
